Just a quick update as we're putting in 14 hour days at the moment, but I just wanted to tell you that we 'completed' on the house purchase today! We now own this:
Woo Hoo!
We've spent the last week painting. The entire house was a very cold blue, so we're painting each room in turn a warm, parchment colour. It looks much better and makes the rooms appear a lot larger. I'll post some 'before' and 'afters' once I scraped the paint off my hands.
We're not doing too badly; so far we've painted 6 rooms, had air conditioning installed, had a new hob fitted, an alarm installed, a dishwasher installed and plumbing for a fridge. Tomorrow we've got an electrician coming to put lights up and install a new oven, Mr Foxtel coming to connect us and a man is coming to fit an automatic garage door. We've got the carpet cleaners booked for Wednesday and we're supposed to be moving in on Thursday. We've then got a couple of days to get the rental tidied and a few repairs (after Darcie put a hole in the fence with her scooter !!!). Can you see why we're a little tired?
Paul also went to the hospital today to meet with the anaesthetist to get everything ready for his op in a few weeks. They shocked him by saying depending on how well the scars heal, he could be in hospital for 6 DAYS! ARGH! I resign now! Apart from a little confusion over what side of his face the tumour was nestling in, decisions were made and her was sent on his way. Kind of took the shine off completing on the house really - always the same with us, whenever we get good news, something major comes along to wee on our sparkler!
Just a very quick one tonight - I'm knackered!
